Ingredients

45.0 gramCocoa, unsweetened
145.0 gramsugar, granulated
1.0 pinchsalt
75.0 gramwater, boiling
1000.0 gramMilk
60.0 gramchocolate, grated
0.75 tspVanilla Extract
120.0 gramCream, Half-and-half

Instructions

  1. Combine the cocoa, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Stir in the boiling water and bring mixture to a boil.

  2. Stir for about 2 minutes. Add milk and heat, but don't bring to a boil. Stir in the chocolate until melted

  3. Divide into serving portions and divide the half and half between them. This late addition brings the cocoa down to drinking temperature.

  4. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
