Wash off the potatoes and yams, dry, rub with oil, and wrap in foil. Bake at about 400 for about an hour or till potatoes are done. The carrots take much less time.

Make a double recipe of matzoh balls. Grease a big caserole, and put a pile of the matzoh ball mix into the center. Arrange carrot coins around the mix and then layer the potatoes, yams, cherries and more carrots... as you reach the top of the pile of mix, add more mix, but don't go higher than rim of the caserole. Try to keep veggies tight together.. When pot is full, add chicken broth to near top of veggies.

Bake in 375 oven for about an hour....
